Meet Peet's Coffee
Peet's Coffee began in 1966, when Alfred Peet, a Dutch immigrant who grew up in his family's coffee business, opened a small shop on Vine and Walnut in Berkeley, California. He introduced Americans to fresh, dark-roasted whole bean coffee and went on to mentor the founders of Starbucks. Peet's still roasts in small batches and is best known for rich, deep roasts like Major Dickason's Blend.

A 1:2 dose-to-yield ratio is a common place to start. Adjust grind and taste — the roaster’s own guidance always wins.
